About SubsAutomation

We build software for commercial trade subcontractors. Our first product is Sub Bid Pro.

Where we come from

SubsAutomation is the trade name of Hoffman Contracting Services LLC, a Pennsylvania company Jon Hoffman founded in 2023 as a commercial painting subcontractor.

Bidding meant invites arriving from a dozen portals and general contractors, addenda and date changes buried in email threads, and proposals that were hard to keep track of once they went out. In early 2026 Jon stopped bidding painting work and started building the tool he had wanted all along. That tool is Sub Bid Pro.

What we believe

• Estimators should estimate. The hours spent copying invites into a spreadsheet are hours not spent pricing work.
• Software should show its work. When Sub Bid Pro isn't sure about a date or a price, it flags the bid for you to check instead of guessing.
• Read only what we need. Sub Bid Pro looks for bid email and nothing else, and its access to your mailbox is read-only.
• Construction only. We build software for the construction industry, starting with the subcontractors who bid its work.
